Primary Design, Inc. has been serving La Jolla and San Diego since 1986.

After working for a number of years within the large office environment, principal architect Bill Metz ventured out on his own at the youthful age of 26. Initially providing a mixed portfolio of commercial (mostly restaurants) and residential work, he now undertakes primarily residential work in the beach communities, specializing in both single family and multi family custom homes on view lots or with unique or restricted site characteristics. 
 

Bill has processed 16 Coastal Development permits and 5 Del Mar discretionary permits. Many of his projects have involved steep hillside lots, environmentally sensitive lands, archaeology, historic and brush management issues.
